Work involves maintainingassigned premises in a clean and orderly condition by following establishedmethods.Duties include thefollowing: Cleaning furniture, equipment, and fixtures,Sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors;Stripping, waxing and polishing floors and furniture;Vacuuming and cleaning carpets;Cleaning lavatories and replacing lavatory supplies;Cleaning white/blackboards, windows and walls;General grounds maintenance, mowing lawns, rakingleaves, keeping grounds neat and tidy;Maintaining a safe school property and environment byshovelling snow, removing ice from school property, moving furniture,equipment, supplies and materials and generally assure the security of schoolpremises;Tasks that are assigned by a supervisor and arechecked for adherence to instructions and quality standards;Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsWeekly Hours - 40 hours - Mon - Fri - 2:30 - 10:30 p.m.MinimumQualifications: Grade 12 highschool diploma or GED;WHMIS training;Must be able towork unsupervised in an assigned area and be capable of making autonomous decisionsto complete the required tasks;Good physicalhealth with the ability to lift 60-70 lbs, climb to a height ofapproximately 25 feet and work overhead in a kneeling position;Demonstratedability to understand and consistently maintain established standardcleaning procedures;Demonstrateability to read instructions and write clearly;Goodorganizational and interpersonal skills;Good work record.Other Qualifications: Experiencecleaning in an institutional environment would be an asset;CPR/First AidTraining would be an asset;Experiencedealing with children/youth would be an asset;Applicants mustsubmit a Criminal Abstract and have no past or present criminal recordwhich would be detrimental in working in an environment with children,youth and other adults.**CSA safety approvedclothing and equipment is required for all custodian/cleaners/trades workers(permanent, relief or substitute).Please Note: Ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the notedqualifications as applicants will be screened based on the informationprovided.
