The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewThe Technician - Paramedic is a member of Prairie Mountain Health Emergency Medical Services and is responsible for the overall care of patients within Prairie Mountain Health primary service area. Primary responsibilities relate to patient care, professional standards, treatment of the ill and injured, maintenance of equipment and vehicles as outlined in the ambulance act.Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies and procedures and applicable legislation.ExperienceNot ApplicableEducation (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a Technician Paramedic in the Province of Manitoba acquired within three (3) months of appointmentCertification/Licensure/RegistrationPhysical Fitness Assessment provided by the University of Manitoba or an Emergency Services Physical Fitness Assessment approved by a Kinesiology Education ProgramCurrent certification in Health Provider Level CPRProvince of Manitoba Class 4 Drivers License, including clean drivers abstract, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain HealthQualifications and SkillsDemonstrated leadershipDemonstrated written and oral communication skillsAbility to prioritize in a changing environmentStrong organizational, decision making and problem solving skillsAbility to display independent judgmentAbility to respect and promote a culturally diverse populationAbility to respect and promote confidentialityAbility to perform the duties of the position on a regular basisPhysical RequirementsNot ApplicableThe Collective Agreement this position is covered under, is identified by the Union noted above.
