Bi-Weekly Hours: 52.5 hours bi-weekly / 7.5 hr. shifts (8:00 pm - 4:00 am) / Every Second Weekend.(Commencing Immediately) The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining an assigned area of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition by performing various cleaning and housekeeping duties as well as performing specialized cleaning assignments. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the security of the building for the duration of their shift, and perform duties related to building and staff safety. Duties will include: - Dry-mopping, wet-mopping and scrubbing floors; stripping and applying floor finishes;- Vacuuming carpeted areas;- Cleaning of offices, front desk and administration areas;- Cleaning and disinfecting washroom areas and fixtures;- Ensuring building security by checking exits and securing windows as scheduled;- Activating hospital door alarm system at beginning of shift and deactivating at end of shift;- Accompanying nursing staff to front entrance as requested;- Replenishing supplies in patient's rooms, washrooms, storage carts and storage areas;- Performing other duties as required.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: - Successful completion of Grade 12.- Capable of sustained physical activity. - Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.- Able to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions.- Have a good previous work and attendance record.- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
