  • Masters Degree in Leadership, Literacy, Assessment, Curriculum, Technology, or Inclusive Education would be an asset
  • Knowledge of issues / strategies related to effective FSL literacy practice and curriculum development
  • Deep Knowledge and practice of Neurolinguistic Approach for French Second Language in Core French, Intensive and Integrated French and French immersion contexts
  • Mentorship training and experience in supporting teachers with implementation of the Neurolinguistic Approach
  • Knowledge of best assessment and instructional practice in FSL
Characteristics:
  • Successful evidence of developing, leading and organizing collaborative and personalized professional development
  • Experience implementing effective NLA strategies in Core French, Intensive French, Integrated French and/or French Immersion (minimum 5 years)
  • Strong long-term approach to FSL planning
  • Polished presentation skills
  • Well-developed, positive interpersonal skills
  • Strong curriculum background knowledge of Core French, Intensive, Integrated French and French immersion
  • Successful teaching experience using the neurolinguistic approach (minimum 5 years)

  • Knowledge of and use of professional resources
  • Exemplary ability to plan, organize and implement instruction
  • Exemplary technology integration in the classroom
  • Strong knowledge of Literacy and Technology Initiatives in French Second Language contexts
  • Knowledge and use of assessment for and as learning in the FSL neurolinguistic approach context
  • Knowledge of the NS Standards of Teaching
  • Knowledge of the NS Principles of Learning
Task Dimensions:Supports FSL programs of Core French, Intensive French and Integrated French and French Immersion P-12 in the delivery of neurolinguistic approach for the Region.For example:
  • Supporting the delivery of the neurolinguistic approach in all FSL classrooms
  • Providing support to Core French, Intensive French, Integrated French and Immersion teachers P-12
  • Coaching teachers to improve instructional and assessment practice.
  • Supporting Coordinators/consultants and school administrators in the delivery of the NLA in Core French, Intensive, Integrated and Immersion programs at P-12 levels
  • Working with new classroom teachers and teachers new to FSL teaching in NLA, classroom management, assessment practices, culturally responsive teaching and technology integration.
  • Co-planning, co-teaching and coaching lessons with teachers to improve their skills in developing NLA lessons using appropriate assessment techniques.
  • Organizing and presenting Professional Development for FSL teachers grades P-12.
  • Implementing new curriculum and resources.
  • Providing leadership for regional professional development days.
  • Participating on applicable interview teams as required.
  • Contributing to and participating in high functioning Collaborative Learning Teams with teachers and with other instructional coaches
  • Complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
