The work schedule will be 4x4 rotation of two days and two nights shifts.To be successful we are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can effectively speak in front of large groups. Come and experience what work life balance is all about!Responsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresSupport the high potential risk control strategy through participation in risk assessments, gap analyses, and effectiveness reviewsAssist in contractor risk management through review of safe work plansPerform industrial hygiene monitoring, control access, and egress to siteFacilitate training for health and safety initiatives and New Hire OrientationParticipate in awareness initiatives and health and safety program educationPerform periodic health and safety inspections and participate in audits as requiredAssist in the development and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety programsProvide overall site protection, including fire systemsSupport implementation of High Potential Risk Control and Occupational Health and Hygiene strategiesPromote Health and Safety leadership among employees and contractors, providing mentorship and direction on the application of site procedures and programsProvide first aid services, drug and alcohol sample collection, and complete accurate first aid reportsProvide support to safety incident investigations and health and safety programs, including confined space, hazardous energy isolation, and fall protectionQualifications:High School DiplomaWork Safe BC OFA Level III or EMP Level III certification is requiredTwo years of relevant industry experience in a Health and Safety role or a Mine Rescue ticket is an assetStrong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite®At Teck, we value diversity.
