Water TechnicianSparwood, BCWolfTrek is an Indigenous Owned Staffing agency in Western Canada.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Water Technician for a 12-month contract position located at a large mine site near Sparwood, BC. The site is in the breathtaking Elk Valley of British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips. Come experience what work life balance is all about!About the role:Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Applied Research and Development (Applied R amp;D), the Technician, Applied R amp;D is responsible for supporting the safe execution of water quality management R amp;D projects on and around active mine sites. In this role you will:To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can build relationships and work collaboratively with technical teams and site personnel. The successful candidate has strong analytical and decision-making abilities, and practical problem-solving abilities and organization skills in a fast-paced, field environment. Most importantly, we require someone who can remain positive and motivated while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Support the execution of projects, mainly from the field-testing phase, through transfer to operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring that work is being conducted safely and in accordance with project scope.
  • Collect water and/or solid samples and follow chain of custody protocols.
  • Perform checks, maintain, and manage field and laboratory equipment.
  • Collect, upload, analyze and manage data.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the Applied R amp;D team.
Qualifications:
  • Engineering or Science Diploma or Degree in civil, chemical, geological, mining, environmental or related field.
  • Minimum two years of relevant industry experience; proven experience in the field in an industrial environment would be an asset.
