Job Description

POSITION: Dispatcher / AdministratorEMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent, Part Time and Full TimeLOCATION: Springbrook, ABCOMPANY HISTORY:Founded in 1988, Montair Aviation was established with the goal of training future professional pilots to a skill and knowledge level that would allow them to serve the airline industry with minimal further training required. Due to the strong demand for skilled airline pilots from Chinas rapidly growing aviation industry, the company took a new direction in 2005. Montair was and continues to be one of the few schools around the world to receive approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to train airline pilots. The company has developed an advanced airline training program, designed to provide the most professional, highly skilled pilots to the airlines. To date, Montair has trained and graduated hundreds of airline pilots, a number that continues to grow.Montair Aviation is committed to fostering a safe, productive and healthy workplace for employees and students. We will continue to practice precautionary measures as outlined by the Public Health Agency of Canada, provincial health authorities, Transport Canada, and our overseas clients. In order to adhere to industry standards, Montair Aviation has a Mandatory Vaccination Policy for all New Employees. All new employees will be required to sign an Attestation of Full Vaccination Status, attesting that they are fully vaccinated and will be able to provide proof of their vaccination status if requested. No specific vaccination information or medical records will be copied or retained in this process. New employees who are unable to be vaccinated due to a bona fide medical or religious reason may be eligible for an exemption. Any request for accommodation must be disclosed to Human Resources at the earliest opportunity. JOB DESCRIPTION: Administrator:

  • Monitoring, training, scheduling for a class of students.
  • Efficient scheduling of aircraft and other resources.
  • Maintaining student accounts.
  • Providing administrative assistance to the Chief Flight Instructor, as assigned.
Flight Dispatcher:
  • Ensuring all dispatch duties are conducted in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
  • Reviewing and amending dispatch documentation and manuals as required.
  • Flight dispatch (flight authorization and aircraft release).
  • Flight following of aircraft.
  • Invoicing of flights.
  • Answering telephone calls.
  • Ensuring the building is presentable.
  • Welcoming clients.
  • Ensuring all office supplies are adequately stocked
  • Ensuring adequate supplies of Company material are available
  • All other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is a highly organized, numerically literate, analytical problem solver and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and concurrently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience and proven success in an Office Assistant/Administrator role is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solver with the ability to work under pressure
  • Motivated team player with superior time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and without direct supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite is a must-have including the use of Excel spreadsheets, including graphs, charts, and conditional formatting.
  • Candidates with no prior aviation or aircraft dispatching experience may be considered if they are highly motivated and willing to learn.
HOURS:
  • Must be willing to work a rotating schedule of 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and early mornings.
  • As designed by the manager and determined by the needs of the company. Additional hours may be required due to business necessity.
