Job Description

ProjectThe Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site and will have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and will produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.Woodfibre Management Limited is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.PositionThe Document Controller is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team. You will not only ensure compliance with legal and contractual environmental requirements for the project but also contribute to WLNG’s enduring dedication to corporate social responsibility. The successful candidate will report directly to the Document Control Manager and play an essential part in supporting the company’s engineering and senior management team through the project’s construction phase.Key Responsibilities:The successful applicant will:

  • Process project-related data and documentation (documents and drawings) for project execution and closeout within the company’s electronic Document Management System.
  • Assist with regular archiving of contractor’s Document Management System, via bulk-loading process.
  • Process in a timely manner company, contractor and supplier documents and drawings.
  • Process company review comments to contractors and suppliers.
  • Adhere to transmittal requirements based on company Distribution Matrix.
  • Interact with different Document Management System databases (company and contractor) and shared Document Control Inbox.
  • Assist with creation of weekly and monthly document management status reports.
  • Assign document numbers and metadata based on the company’s document numbering scheme and codes.
  • Ensure compliance by company, contractors, and suppliers with required document numbering, revisions, status, format, title, etc.
  • Process project data books for final handover to Operations.
  • Assist Document Control Manager and Quality Manager with the execution of periodic audits.
  • Adhere to company’s Document Management Plan.
RequirementsRequired Experience:
  • University or College Diploma, Records Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project document control experience on a significant capital EPC project preferred.
  • Knowledge of document management systems; with strong preference to Aconex.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with working in an integrated team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.
  • Communication/interpersonal skills – interacting with front-line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

  • A valid driver’s license and passport.
  • As required, the position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), with travel to Houston, Texas and other project locations from time to time.
