Job Description

Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.The Senior Electrical Engineer will be based in the Vancouver area and responsible for providing technical design oversight of electrical systems, instrumentation and control systems, supporting maintenance and operation strategies, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. This role is primarily office based with occasional travel to Squamish, BC. Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight during early engineering, procurement, and construction phase of the project.
  • Work closely with the Project Electrical Lead to ensure systems are designed, built, and commissioned in alignment with safety and reliability standards.
  • Work in conjunction with Client Maintenance teams and project staff to review maintenance strategies and spare parts requirements.
  • Act as a subject-matter-expert relating to electrical equipment, systems, and operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with Canadian technical standards for operating electrical equipment.
  • Direct and mentor junior engineers to contribute to their professional growth and development.

    • Electrical Engineering Degree. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer In Canada.
    • Minimum 15 years #39; experience in Electrical Engineering.
    • Comprehensive understanding of electrical equipment and systems
    • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical testing, both destructive and non-destructive.
    • Technical proficiency in the following areas: Generators and motors, switchgears, transformers, electrical equipment in cryogenic applications, safety protection systems, condition monitoring techniques, machine monitoring systems, and root cause failure analysis.
    • Awareness and understanding of applicable codes such as CSA, API, NPC, ISO and NFPA.
    • Project management acumen.
    • Proficient in computer maintenance management system SAP.
    • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate, mentor, and coach project staff.
    • Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and collaboratively within a team environment.
