Job Description

As a Service Manager (Tradesamp; Techs) you will lead a team of service technicians including HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics, Electriciansamp; Plumbers. In addition to performing service duties, you will coordinate activities of all technicians to ensure that all maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment are properly completed in an efficient manner. As well as actively pursue and acquire new business through developing and maintaining strong client relationships, presentations to clients, understanding of proposed project plans, specs and other contractual documents.Essential Functions:

  • Interview, screen, and evaluate new service technicians.
  • Identify training needs of staff and facilitate delivery of training.
  • Train technicians in procedures and usage of equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate employee safety training and compliance is completed.
  • Provide technical support for all Technicians and ensure licenses and certificates are renewed and kept up to date.
  • Responsible for working with the dispatch team on all customer and technical issues, establishing service “On-Call” schedule and dispatch emergency service.
  • Responsible for working with service technicians in the field and dealing with complaints from customers and technicians.
  • Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules, and assist in project contract negotiations. Monitor adherence to the above through attendance at job site meetings, progress reports, cost reports, performance evaluations, inspections, and working closely with field crew supervision.
  • Participate in the conceptual development of projects and oversee organization scheduling, and execution while working closely with owners, general contractors, architects and engineers to resolve design related construction issues.
  • Plan, organize, direct and coordinate manpower, equipment, tools and supply needs to achieve project objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining service margins and profit.
  • Create and implement changes to increase revenue and gain market share.
  • Monitor the quality of the service through regular jobsite visits.
  • Facilitate management and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure that all service revenue grows.
  • Review quotes to verify technical accuracy.
  • Review warranty, service, start-up repair, and installation needs.
  • Conduct post sale follow-ups with customers to ensure all sales agreement have been accomplished and customers are satisfied with all aspects of the transaction.
  • Assist Billing Department with invoice review.
  • Complies with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management team.
Job Requirements:
  • Red Seal Certification.
  • Five (5) plus years of successful and recent service management background.
  • Must have experience and/or knowledge of the industry.
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated, tactful, organized, results and goal-oriented professional.
  • Ability to perform advanced level maintenance related tasks.
  • Problem solving and conflict management are recommended skills.
  • Ability to generate ideas and create processes to grow service department.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance. instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership and support staff, as well as with employees.
