Working to promote excellence in clinical trials, the Clinical Research Coordinator I will be responsible for the initiation, organization, co-ordination and ongoing administration of clinical trials in in the thrombosis clinic. Reporting to the Research Manager, the Clinical Research Coordinator I will work under the direction of the Principle Investigators (PIs) to apply specialized knowledge in coordinating and managing several concurrent research projects. The Clinical Research Coordinator I is a highly motivated and organized individual who balances the day-to-day activities of multiple clinical trials screening, consenting and recruiting patients, monitoring of trial conduct to ensure adherence to study protocol and plan, and independently identifying, evaluating and rectifying problems. The Clinical Research Coordinator I conducts patient visits, study monitoring and performs efficient and accurate data collection and management. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized and motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, who will enjoy taking on a leadership position, while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, conducting research in a stimulating environment to join the Niagara Health Research Program. Experience in the coordination of multiple research studies, and the recruitment of patients into acute or critical care trials, and knowledge and/or experience in an acute care environment are highly desirable.QUALIFICATIONS:o Bachelors degree in Science of a health related field and at least 5 years of recent experience in a research coordinator position, or equivalent combination of education and experienceo Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP/CCRA) or willingness to obtain within two years of employment (must keep certification active) or Clinical Trials Management Diplomao Certification in ICH GCP, Division 5, TCPS-2o Experience in a relevant health care environmento Enthusiasm for advancing science in the practice of clinical trials researcho Demonstrated skill in managing and organizing multiple projects, with competing deadlines, diverse tasks, and unique challenges and in a constantly changing environmento Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new situations.o Proven ability of ensuring confidentiality of information.o Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, especially with patients and substitute decision makers.o Excellent written communication, proofreading and editing skills.o Superior organizational and problem solving skills.o Ability to work independently with initiative and accuracy in a professional and courteous manner.o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.o Consistent and regular attendance required, with a flexible schedule an asset.o Ability to utilize a hospitals print and electronic patient record, and Microsoft Office applications.
