Job Description

Hello, my name is Bonnie! I’m a 39-year-old woman living with physical disabilities; paraplegia, and am ventilator and wheelchair dependent. I’m seeking to fulfill a casual position of HCA/Personal Support Worker with a female individual who resides in St. Claude and surrounding areas.I live in my home with my husband and fur babies. I work full-time outside of my home (in St. Claude). I’m easy going but place a lot of importance on respect for my house, my family and those who live and work in my home.Duties are: to provide all aspects of personal care and hygiene, provide medical care and perform medical procedures, light housekeeping, pet care and transportation (with my own vehicle).Qualifications

  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Must live in St. Claude OR surrounding areas (Portage La Prairie, MacGregor, Oakville, etc).
  • Must have a class 5 Driver’s License and be comfortable driving locally and to Winnipeg.
  • Must be able to provide satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks.
  • Must have First Aid/CPR.
  • Must be strong enough to lift and maneuver a wheelchair ramp weight of 50 lbs multiple times a day.
  • Must be comfortable assisting with all types of personal care and hygiene, including bathing, hair washing, and nail care.
  • Must be comfortable with basic pet care, including litter box changes. Also, must not be afraid of cats or dogs.
Training is provided.This position is for casual hours. I am looking for someone who can be available in the event that another staff member is unable to work due to sickness or bad weather (most of my current staff commute from Winnipeg.)Shifts are all days, nights, weekends and holidays.
