Job Description

Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, is the largest Veterinary Supplier in Ontario and is currently looking to add a dynamic individual within our I.T. department for a permanent full-time position of:Network Administrator / AnalystThis is a 6-month contract position reporting to the I.T. Manager. The successful candidate will design, monitor, and maintain local and remote networks. Works closely with management and the IT team to determine future network and infrastructure needs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for multi-site network design and implementation
  • Responsible for planning, installation and maintenance on new servers and software
  • Develop methods and tools to be used to validate new equipment
  • Create and manage projects that are designed to add functionality required by the Company or to address ongoing network issues
  • Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity and security issues
  • Analyze current network structure and report on how to make the network more efficient and secure
  • Review privacy and security concerns related to the network and initiate projects to minimize the risk to VP and its members
  • Firewall maintenance and monitoring
  • Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
  • Report to supervisor / manager any health & safety violations or hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Good manufacturing practices:
  • Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices
Skills and knowledge required:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • BSc in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience managing a large complex multi-site network considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • CCNA, MSCE, CISSP considered an asset but not required.
  • Avaya VoIP, VMware, Office 365, Active Directory, GPO Objects
  • WSUS, SCCM experience
  • IT Security focused
