JOB SUMMARYThe primary function of this role is to troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the Sun Gro Horticulture Elma production facility. WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL BE:

• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining the form and texture of parts.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Responsible for monitoring, scheduling, and documenting all oil changes and other maintenance that is required on a regular basis by the manufacturer of the equipment
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machine and equipment.
• Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Proven experience working in and maintaining a safe work environment with intimate knowledge of safety practices
• Maintenance experience in manufacturing environment
• Millwright skills, welding and machining experience preferred
• Excellent working knowledge of appropriate use of hand tools and maintenance equipment
• Ability to read and understand detailed repairamp; instruction manuals
• Must be able to work with computer-based maintenance software
• Possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Must supply own hand tools appropriate to the equipment and environment
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods
