Job Description

requires anEducational AssistantClearview Public Schools invites applications for an Educational Assistant position at Stettler Elementary School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. The position will begin immediately.The position consists of supporting a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The schedule for this position will be 6.50 hours/day on Mondays through Fridays.We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and innovative individual who:

  • has experience working with students with Autism
  • is interested in helping students with behavioral and learning needs;
  • is extremely flexible and adaptable to many changes;
  • is able to work well with others in a collaborative environment;
  • is a self starter, who takes initiative and can work independently;
  • has knowledge of de-escalating and self-regulation techniques to help this student regulate during the day;
  • is confident working with students with ASD and is not intimidated by students with these needs; and
  • Will work closely and supportively with the Inclusive lead for the school in addition to the classroom teacher.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold an Educational Assistant Certificate and have STAR Autism training, and/or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA), but these are not requirements. Interest and ability to pursue further training and skills development is a must, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.Educational Assistants receive a competitive salary of $16.00 to $24.00 per hour. The successful candidate will work in a learning environment focused on student success.
