Job Description

Clearview Public SchoolsRequires anEducational AssistantClearview Public Schools invites applications for an Educational Assistant position at Stettler Elementary School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. The position will begin on December 1, 2022 and end on the earlier of the following: June 28, 2023 or the return of the staff member. The work duties consist of providing one-on-one inclusive support to a grade 1 student. This position runs Mondays through Fridays for 6.5 hours per day from approximately 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative individual who:

  • is interested in supporting students with behavioural and academic interventions;
  • is flexible and adaptable to many changes;
  • is effective in a collaborative team environment;
  • is a self starter capable of working independently;
  • takes initiative;
  • has interest or experience in providing inclusive support for students; and
  • has knowledge of de-escalating and self-regulation techniques to help students regulate their emotions.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience providing one-on-one support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. First consideration will also be given to individuals with applicable training including but not limited to a post-secondary Educational Assistant Certificate and/or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training. Interest and ability to pursue further training and skills development is a must, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.Special consideration will be given to those with an Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable experience. Educational Assistant staff receive a competitive salary of $16.21 to $24.30 per hour. The successful candidate will work in a learning environment focused on student success.
