Your Opportunity:As a Home Support Aide and member of our nursing care team, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our clients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct client centered care. This position is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly and community clients. Within the Home Care Interdisciplinary Team, the Home Support Aide is responsible for providing personal care and assisting with activities of daily living within the client’s authorized plan of care. Clients and their families are assisted to maximize their optimum level of independence. You will provide emotional support by being a good listener, being supportive, being friendly and sincere, and interacting in a positive and optimistic manner. You will provide respite care to relieve family caregivers including but not limited to companionship, recreational activities, and supervision. You will perform health care duties as authorized on the client’s plan of care including simple dressings, medication assistance, catheter care, ostomy care, and exercises for range of movement and strengthening. You have an opportunity to contribute as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. Stettler is located in the “Heart of Alberta”, just 179km southeast of Edmonton and 101km east of Red Deer.
