Job Description

Your Opportunity:AHS has an exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Facilitator (HPF) in the Town of Stetter, Counties of Stettler, Paintearth and Special Area 4! As an HPF you will be working out of the Stettler Community Health Center. You will work within a community development framework to partner with local and regional organizations, coalitions, and communities along with Clearview Public Schools to understand and address health priorities. You will share health data and trends and collaborate with other AHS programs and community agencies to facilitate integration of health information and resources into community activities and initiatives. The HPF encourages assessment of current community health activities, assists in the development and implementation of action plans, while providing leadership, support and education for community stakeholders in building healthy communities. You will report to the Area Manager, Public Health and receive day to day support by the Health Promotion Team Lead. You will use a health equity lens while participating with multidisciplinary groups as you apply health promotion principles in school authorities and communities. Knowledge of health promotion theories, Comprehensive School Health, Innovation principles along with excellent communication skills, leadership, facilitation skills, self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively with others is essential to this role. You will experience the awe of beautiful prairie landscapes in the counties of Stetter, Special Area 4 and Paint Earth. These areas boast lake access, golf courses, Farmers’ markets along with an assortment of community offerings. Stettler is the regional hub with a variety of recreational facilities, performing arts theatre and a wide variety of shopping venues.Description:As a Health Promotion Facilitator I, you will assist communities to be healthier through mentoring, advocacy and education. You will link individuals and/or communities to relevant health resources within the region or province and work with community partners to access, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies. You will participate in special studies and/or research projects and review health-related data and identify trends relative to population health and at risk groups. You will facilitate the development and/or implementation of program specific guidelines in partnership with other stakeholders. You will plan, develop and facilitate workshops, seminars and presentations for staff and communities. You will prepare work plans, budgets and year end reports and provide input for departmental goals and strategies.
