Job Description

KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking a Production Associate I – Cleaner on the afternoon shift.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.· Ensure walkways/entrances are shoveled & salted, mop up spills & wet foot traffic areas.· Sweep plant floor, collect & empty garbage/recycling containers around the Plant on a daily basis & arrange garbage bin pick-up, as needed.· Tidy up lunchrooms.· Empty ashtrays on a daily basis.· Clean and maintain washrooms including filling paper & soap dispensers.· Clean office areas including desks, garbage’s, recycling and vacuum all areas.· Help ensure co-workers are working safely and following safety requirements.· Follow all applicable procedures, Standardized Work, etc.· Learn, understand, and implement Andersen Management Systems (AMS) and continuous improvement concepts.· Support and participate in Employee engagement activities.· Follow defined clean-up times.· Engage in cross-training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support resource planning.· Participate in defining and improving standard work.· Identify problems; communicate issues to Work Center Leads and Supervisors.· Support a respectful workplace.· Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management.QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma or GED.· Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner.· Possess communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills.· Dependability/punctuality.· Demonstrates a positive attitude with the ability to interact effectively with other departments.· Ability to work at heights to conduct cleaning activities at ceiling level.· Proven ability to work independently.· Demonstrates a positive attitude with the ability to interact effectively with other departments.· Strong communication skills (written, verbal & listening).Available Shift: · Afternoons (Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12am)Salary: PI ($21.09 - $22.77 per hour)In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, KML Windows Inc. will provide accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process.
