Job Description

KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking two day shift Value Stream Lead Hands. The incumbent of this position is responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while identifying and escalating issues and improvements and determining the sequence of work in the operation through people and processes.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Understand, promote, and model Andersen’s Values, Andersen-Strathroy operational procedures/policies, the Employee Handbook, and Quality & Environmental programs· Responsible for the day-to-day direction and support of the manufacturing T1 team members· Establish and maintain respectful communication and relationships with other team members and encourage teamwork with other departments· Coach, train, and support employees within the value stream. Ensure that employees are trained, qualified, and capable of performing their assigned work· Lead shift start-up and stand-down meetings· Lead the resolution of complex problems within work area· Ensure daily inspections are completed and conduct planned inspection audits on each shift· Maintain T1 boards with relevant and current information/data· Instruct and organize the department work force for required daily activities· Participates when required to investigate all non-conformance to Company polices/procedures/rules/regulations and provides the Supervisor with information and documentation for corrective action· Ensures their team members comply with quality guidelines and follow quality control plans· Ensures team members follow Standard Operating Procedures (Standard Work) established for each workstation· Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts, utilizing all Lean Manufacturing (AMS) tools provided· Maintain and improve workplace organization by following defined housekeeping and organization expectations; support and participate in 5-S process· Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA. Audit daily for potential hazards in the workplace· Proficiently perform all jobs within a designated area and demonstrate a willingness to rotate and cross-train in other areas to maintain flexibility and adaptability· Continually monitor quality, breakdowns, or problems on a day-to-day basis to ensure production targets are met· Ensure that all work-in-process and any/all product is correctly identified and dispositioned· Ensures fairness to direct reports, and encourages and participates in the open-door resolution process for employee relation issues· Provides input into the Performance Reviews of peers· Meet quality expectations by producing acceptable parts, recording scrap, documenting quality checks, identifying non-conforming and cull material reporting, and following proper processes to disposition them· Maintain proper documentation for production and equipment· Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or managementQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma, GED or equivalent· Previous Assembly/Supply experience in manufacturing processes· Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or providing feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive· Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact· Basic working knowledge of computer functions and keyboarding· Possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills· Strong communication skills (written and verbal) & able to take instruction/direction well· Demonstrates a sense of urgency to complete work on schedule & able to work effectively under pressure· Demonstrates a positive attitude with the ability to interact effectively with other departments and management· Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude· Must have the ability to work flexible shifts and/or additional hours in order to meet customer and timeline requirementsShift:

  • Days (Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts)
  • Afternoons (Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts)
