We #39;re looking for a mission-driven Social Services Program Planner who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.Your Impact at CNIB

  • Perform and coordinate programmatic, operational, administrative, and logistical responsibilities in the community.
  • Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, all CNIB #39;s policies and procedures.
  • Champion CNIB #39;s high standards of participant and customer service
  • Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with program participants.
  • Proactively encourage and refer program participants to take advantage of CNIB programs and services that may be of benefit to them.
  • Track attendance of program participants.
RequirementsWho you are:Experience and Qualifications
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and execute a plan of action.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional attitude, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature when dealing with the needs of people experiencing sight loss, including maintaining participant confidentiality.
  • A detail-oriented approach to all you do.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility Standards and best practices is an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
EligibilityThis position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
