On the job training from the ground up to the treetops through the Asplundh Canada Training Standard is completed with every employee. We are members of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and encourage employees to obtain their ISA Certification through the ISA’s continuing education program.Location:Various throughout Atlantic Canada, travel will be essential.Responsibilities:- Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.- Prune, trim, remove limbs and/or trees by climbing or aerial bucket truck as directed.- Use of rigging techniques for lowering tree branches, sections and/or tree removal.- Basic daily equipment maintenance of handheld tools, power tools, chippers, aerialbucket truck, other assigned equipment, and reporting deficiencies for repair.- Maintain accurate records via hardcopy and through various digital applications.- Promote and maintain good relations with utility clients and their customers.- Carrying out other duties as assigned by Crew/ Project/ General Foreperson.Requirements:- 1+ years’ experience climbing and/or operating aerial bucket truck, chipper, handheld tools, power tools, pruners, and other specialized arborist equipment.- Documented hours of experience working aloft in an aerial bucket truck and/or climbing while in close proximity of energized electrical lines.- Standard First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and Electrical Awareness training.- Chainsaw Safety, Bucking, and Felling near Powerlines or equivalent training.- ISA Certified Arborist or willingness to obtain credentials would be an asset.- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence as a minimum, Class 3 with air brake endorsement preferred.- Able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.- Own transportation to a common meeting location.Benefits:- Full-time, Permanent employment.- Paid Statutory Holidays.- Extended Health, Dental, Vision Care after probationary period.- Employee Assistance Program.- RRSP matching program.- Annual boot allowance and discounts on specialized PPE.- Paid accommodations and per diem for overnight travel.- Competitive compensation depending on experience.- Opportunities to learn the industry and grow with us!If you enjoy physical work in an outdoor environment, are easy going, and a team player then we have a career for youJob Types: Full-time, Permanent, Internship / Co-opSalary: $19.50-$26.00 per hourBenefits:
