SUMMERSIDEWSP is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our Municipal Engineering department, located at our Summerside office. Reporting to the Manager this position will be responsible for preparing drawings, plans, designs, and other related materials, connected to the delivery of various structural and civil engineering projects including bridges, buildings, marine structures and municipal infrastructure projects.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings, designs, and plans for various structural and civil engineering projects;
  • Perform calculations; assessments, and inspections;
  • Prepare presentation materials and proposals;
  • Maintain familiarity with current techniques and developments;
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma from a Technician or Technologist program in Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience is desired;
  • Eligible for membership with Island Technology Professionals (ITP) is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently with minimal oversight,take full responsibility for quality and efficiency of CAD work, and coordinate with engineering managers and designers;
  • Thorough knowledge of Autocad is required, knowledge of Civil 3D is an asset;
  • Ability to work on several projects at a time;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
