Job Description

Bi-Weekly Hours: 30.0 hours bi-weekly / rotating shifts / days, evenings, nights / every second weekend(Commencing Immediately)The incumbent will assist, under supervision of Registered Nurse or delegate, with the basic nursing care of residents in a long-term care setting. The Resident Care Worker is the personal care provider for residents within the Long Term Care setting. The purpose of their position is to provide professional, high quality, holistic care in a manner that considers the residents physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. A primary responsibility is to deliver person-centered care. The Resident Care Worker will use the skills and competencies within their scope of practice in the performance of job duties and tasks, as an integral member of the nursing care team and is responsible to work to their full scope of practice. This position will require shift work including weekends.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: - Applicants must have successfully completed a recognized Resident Care Worker training program or equivalent.- Applicants must have demonstrated ability in communication and judgment skills and show patience, sensitivity and creativity.- Applicants must be able to work under supervision as well as independently and be self motivated.- The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record.- The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to beginning employment.Other Qualifications: - Experience in Alzheimer and related dementia would be considered an asset.- Experience in long-term care would be considered an asset.- Additional relevant education and experience would be considered an asset.Please Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
