Position:TeacherFTE:1.00Application for grade(s)/Subjects(s):Div III & Div IV English Language ArtsSchool: Sunrise SchoolLocation of School:Brooks, ABApplication close date:As soon as a suitable applicant pool has been establishedSunrise School is looking for a full-time teacher to teach English Language Arts while splitting time between our on-site Jr and Sr high. Sunrise is an alternative school for grades 7-12 which uses the fundamental principles of Collaborative Problem Solving, Love and Logic as well as Restorative Justice. This position will include teaching English Language Arts at a Junior High (ELA 7,8,9) as well as Senior High level (ELA 10-1, 10-2, 20-1, 20-2,30-1, and 30-2). Approximately 25% of the job will be teaching PE and/or other complementary courses in the high school room.The successful candidate should have experience working with students with complex needs and can work collaboratively with all staff. The ability to adapt, be flexible, and place the needs of the students first is essential. Experience and training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention as well as the Holds component of this training would be beneficial but is not mandatory. The successful applicant will also be able to let issues and problems go quickly, not take things personally, move on and adapt on short notice and understand trauma informed practices. • University degree

Pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution

• Teaching Certification through Alberta Education
