Position:1ST Cook CasualLocation: Bolivar Creek Retirement Residence, Surrey, BCSalary: $20-25/hrPosition Summary:The Cookwill prepare meals for the Residents in dining room.Responsible to follow safe cooking practices and take direction from the Executive Chef and Food Services Manager.A variety of culinary tasks will be required as well as standard cleaning tasks.May be required to assist in food ordering, receiving and storage. Qualifications:

• Formal training in quantity food preparation from a recognized training institution or school preferred or experience in quantity food preparation preferred
• Must have food safe certificate level 1
• Previous experience in long term care preferred
• Must be physically fit and in general good health with the ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
• Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and general safety
• Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to stay focused
• Reliable with attendance, working with all scheduled shifts in their entirety
• Clear criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
• Appropriately dressed
• Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team
