Commissionaires BC is looking for a bilingual security guard to work at the front desk at a high profile RCMP building in Surrey.Please note: This position requires the applicant to receive a RCMP level 3 clearance, which can take anywhere up to and beyond 3 months to be processed. Only applicants who meet the mandatory requirements will be considered, due to the nature of the clearance process.Position: Monday to Friday 6.30am – 2.30pmWage: $22.45/hrMust have requirements:

• Have lived in Canada for at least the past 5 years and are either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in order to obtain required clearances
• A valid BC Security Licence
• Basic First Aid certificate
• Be fluent in both French and English
• Be able to provide a high level of customer service to staff and visitors
• Be confident with access control and computer administrative duties

Site responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors as they enter the building
• Access control and data input
• Reception duties including answering phone calls and directing as needed
• Performing interioramp; exterior patrols
• CCTV monitoring
• Writing clear and concise daily logs and reports of all incidents
• Enforcing and maintaining site security procedures
• Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
• Provide first aid in a prompt, accessible, and appropriate manner
• Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of site duties and safety standards
