Employment Status Union - CUPE Local 402 - Regular Full-Time Scope As one of the busiest museums in Western Canada, Museum of Surrey (MOS), with a robust, exciting exhibit program, is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Curator of Exhibits. The successful candidate is a highly organized self-starter and has solid community partnership, exhibit development and design experience. The Curator of Exhibits is committed to Indigenous reconciliation, accessibility, community engagement, anti-racism, and a visitor experience philosophy that believes that the visitor and storytelling are at the heart of decision-making. Reporting to the Museum Manager, the Curator of Exhibits is a member of the Museum leadership and supervises a small, but talented exhibits team. Museum of Surrey #39;s mission is to ignite imaginations and connect Surrey #39;s diverse citizens and communities through participation, engagement, and stories. We are a people museum, committed to helping communities share their stories of identity, belief, struggle, and success. High quality temporary and permanent exhibitions are a significant component of this mission. Note that physical work is sometimes required with some exposure to changing environments. Due to some evening and weekend work, a flexible schedule is needed although the#39;normal #39; work week is Monday to Friday with one day working from home. Responsibilities As outlined in the museum #39;s annual plan, the Curator of Exhibits develops and maintains a robust exhibition program that reflects MOS #39; values of community, curiosity, engagement, connection, relevance, and stewardship and align with the museums strategic plan.
