Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced, full-time, permanent Equipment Operator to support projects across Western Canada. This role requires travel with the crew to multiple job sites, starting in British Columbia and continuing to projects in Alberta and Saskatchewan.Under the direction of the foreman or lead hand, the Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various equipment, as well as performing daily maintenance checks. While the primary focus of this role is operating a backhoe, additional equipment may include:

• Loaders
• Skid steers with various attachments
• Mini excavators
• Forklifts
• Other related machinery as required

• Able to follow site plans
• Able to complete to finish grade
• Able to load and unload various types of material
• Help develop work plans for equipment use
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and ensure documentation for equipment is up to date as per daily check
• Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
• Participate in routine maintenance and advise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• Assist crew with various work tasks on-site when not operating equipment (Concrete pours, finishing, compaction, form work etc.)
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

• Class 1 or Class 3 license with air brakes is required
• 3 to 5 years #39; experience operating equipment specifically backhoe experience required, excavator and skid steer experience would be considered an asset
• Operators certificate from a licensed service provider considered an asset
• There is a requirement to travel to various project throughout Western Canada. Typical shift structure is 21 days on and 7 days off but can change based on specific project demands.
• Able and willing to present an acceptable drivers abstract
