EquipmentnOperators are required to operate all necessary equipment as directed bynSupervisors including front wheel loaders, excavators, track dozers,ncompactors, and forklifts. These duties are performed on a daily basis inna noisy environment in all types of weather conditions. The transfer stationsnare open 365 days per year. Applicants must be able to work shifts which mayninclude day, afternoon, night, and/or weekend shifts. lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;nWhat will you do lt;/b gt; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n

• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Successfully operate equipment to move and load solid wastenand recyclable materials into equipment and containers for transportation; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Check and ensure that equipment is serviced and in goodnworking condition; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Perform daily safety inspections and observe proper safetynpractices and regulations when operating or working around equipment; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Screen solid waste materials received at the transfernstation and remove unauthorized materials in accordance with the site #39;s operationalnprocedures; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Assist with directing traffic and guiding customer vehiclesninto position for proper unloading of waste; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Assist with manual work related to transfer stationnoperations, including cleaning waste loading, and unloading areas in accordancenwith site #39;s operational procedures; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Ensure equipment is in a clean and tidy condition at end ofnthe shift; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Recordkeeping as required (inspections, pre/post-tripnmaintenance activities, etc.); lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Answer questions and assist customers and the generalnpublic, as needed; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Othernduties as may be assigned. lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n

This person may be required to be on call and has to makenthemselves available for any of our 4 sites. lt;/span gt; lt;/b gt; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;nlt;/span gt;What will you bring lt;/span gt; lt;/b gt; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n

• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Grade 12 or GED equivalency a benefit. lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Current valid Class 5 BC Driver #39;s license is a mandatory requirement; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Previous experience operating wheel loaders, tracknexcavators, track dozers, compactors and forklifts are a requirement; lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Previous experience working in a transfer station isnconsidered anlt;/span gt;asset. lt;/p gt;n
• n lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;OFA and WHMIS knowledge islt;/span gt;preferred. lt;/p gt;n
• lt;/span gt; lt;/span gt;Equipmentncertification and TDG certification is preferred. lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;n
