Otter Co-op is now hiring a Guest Service Supervisor at our Brickyard Station Food Store located in Surrey, BC.Who we are:Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization, serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and BC Interior since 1922. We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty-one Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Angry Otter Tapamp; Forno and Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, the Sawbucks pub in South Surrey and twenty-five gas station/convenience stores. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.otterco-op.crs.What you’ll do:Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Guest Service Supervisor will assist with the overall operations of the Guest Service department to improve guest service, team performance management, program execution and company profitability. Our Brickyard Station Food Store, located in Cloverdale, is an exciting addition to our other locations and we are anticipating opening this location in Spring 2024. The successful candidate for this position will be starting in advance of opening and will be responsible for recruiting and building the team and preparing for our grand opening.The specific responsibilities of the Guest Service Supervisor include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide assistance with paperwork, scheduling, and other supervisory tasks to support the Food Store Manager.
  • Provide excellent service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
  • Process orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Balance cash tills accurately on a daily basis.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures.
  • To operate the cash register and other equipment as required.
  • Provide excellent guest service and guest service resolution to guests in a courteous, efficient manner and within approved programs, policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must have a minimum 2-3 years experience managing/supervising others.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong guest service skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Motivation and ability to work in a busy work environment is required.
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Must be available 7 days a week to work between early mornings, afternoons and late evenings.
  • This position is based at the Brickyard Station Food Store, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise.
