Job Description

Job Title: Lawyer- Estates and WillsAbout the role:Our client is seeking an Lawyer - Estates and Wills who is responsible for providing legal services in matters involving estates and trusts, disputes over wills, trust administration, and fiduciary obligations. You will work with clients to review and advise on different types of estate plans, such as trusts, wills, and powers of attorney, and help clients evaluate their options for resolving legal disputes related to an estate.What you will do:

  • Evaluate and advise clients on legal matters related to estates, trusts, probate, and related litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to estates and trusts.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, administrators, and other relevant parties.
  • Draft legal pleadings, memoranda, and other documents required for litigation proceedings.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
  • Monitor changes in estate, trust, and probate laws to ensure that clients are receiving current legal advice.
What you will bring to the table:
  • Juris Doctor or LLB degree and licensed to practice law in British Columbia with good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Proven experience in estates litigation, including knowledge of trusts, probate, and wills law.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Portable book of business.
  • Experience of 10 years plus.
