Employee Group:Casual EmployeeHours of Work (BCGEU):# of openings:3Hours Per Week (BCGEU):Pay Level:Casual Employee - Hourly RateDays of Work (BCGEU):Employment Type:On-CallInternal Closing Date:August 5, 2023Travel Frequency:Occasional travel between campuses is required.External Closing Date:August 5, 2023Competition ID:2791ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE This role reports to Lead Advisor, Work Integrated Learning SUMMARY The student will complete work duties within the context of KPU’s Museum Lab, including assisting the Anthropology department in facilitating and promoting the program. This involves working closely with the Anthropology department and the instructor(s) of the Museum Lab. Completion of senior level Anthropology courses, in particular the KPU Applied Archaeology Field School, is preferred. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in media and marketing support for museums and heritage partners and Museum Lab Assist in department-related events (e.g. develop and organize presentations, information sessions, group meetings, etc.) Assist in department promotion (e.g. develop and update posters, brochures, website; develop and conduct surveys) Perform other related tasks (e.g. research, document preparation, photocopying, emails, invitations, etc.) Serve as a liaison, with communication and coordination among museums and heritage partners Facilitate and complete grant-writing for museums and heritage partners Some of these tasks may be shared among two or three positions, if neededQUALIFICATIONSAbility to follow directions with minimal Supervision Demonstrated strong attention to detail and quality deliverables Ability to use MS office tools, including databases for tracking or qualitative and/or quantitative studies Good interpersonal, organization, research and written skills. A professional and positive attitude Knowledge of the research area.
