Job Description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator (full-time, permanent) to support the FB Bullet team based out of Surrey, BC. Specializing in shallow utility construction in the lower mainland, the FB Bullet team continues to see significant growth in the region.The Operations Coordinator (full-time, permanent) to will support day to day operations primarily for restoration work orders. The Operations Coordinator will work out of the Surrey, BC office, closely with the General Foreman to determine appropriate sub crews, schedules and coordinate related financials, invoices and reports for all work orders and assignments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFEamp; never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
  • Work closely with General Foreman on intaking new restoration work orders for assignment(s)
  • Determine work schedules and sub crews as per intakes and restoration requirements
  • Coordinate financials, invoices, schedules with subcontractors for all restoration work
  • Perform quantity and unit take offs, cost summarization, and engage quotes from incoming designs and drawings
  • Prepare and interpret production reports, purchase orders, as-built and design drawings
  • Submit PREamp; POST construction change orders for client review, negotiate and adjust rejections as required with utmost professionalism
  • Communicate with General Foreman regarding site visit/scope confirmation
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Subcontractors
  • Track and file important written and verbal details/communications to support change order justification
  • Work with Operations Administration to ensure permitting and other requirements are in place ahead of construction
  • Assist in overall construction coordination, planning and identifying potential risks, and resolving field technical issues
  • Attend meetings with the goal to continually review and improve internal processes Review work order financial performance with Operations Supervisor/Regional Manager as required
  • Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an Operations Coordinator or similar role in the construction industry, is required
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, quality, safety, construction sequences and installation specifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of cost summarization and quantity take-off, an asset
  • Strong computer skills and experience having worked with multiple platforms and operating systems including MS Office, Excel, MS Project
  • Able and willing to work in field/on-site with travel with work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/on-site work schedules
  • Able and willing to present a valid Class 5 Driver #39;s License and an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
