Fraser Grain Terminal (FGT) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual to bring their passion and hands on skills to a role as Operations Supervisorfor our terminal in Surrey, British Columbia.Fraser Grain TerminalThis brand new, state of the art terminal is a joint venture between Parrishamp; Heimbecker, Limited (P amp;H) and GrainsConnect Canada Operations Inc. (GrainsConnect) and has been in full operation since October 2022.Both partner companies in FGT have demonstrated their commitment to the growth of Canadian overseas markets by making significant investments in resources to efficiently export Canadian farmer’s grain and specialty product exports and contributing to the world’s food supply chain. Your RoleThe Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of the daily shippingamp; receiving operations of Fraser Grain Terminal.Day to Day

  • Ensure that all Safety Policies, Operational Procedures, and Quality Management requirements are followed
  • Motivate the team to solve problems and implement solutions to meet or exceed goals set for the operations
  • Create a safe, discrimination free, positive workplace for all employees
  • Recognize potential issues in production flow related to shipping and receiving through knowledge of PLC/HMI systems
  • Implement continuous improvement processes, resulting in improvements in safety, process flow and cost savings
  • Manage a harmonious work environment using the CBA as a guideline to manage the team
  • Collaborate with logistics and scheduling personnel to meet production goals in an evolving schedule environment
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in areas such as Business, Agriculture, Facilities Management, or relative equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and provide direction to employees
  • Experience leading in a union environment with ability to manage effectively within the guidelines of CBAs
  • Experience with terminal operations; agricultural specific would be an asset
  • Familiar with supply chain management in all forms rail, sea and land would be an asset
  • Trained in Federal Healthamp; Safety management to ensure that facility practices consistently meet government regulations, environmental, healthamp; safety standards and industry codes including food safety
  • Flexible work schedule to support 24/7 operational environment
  • Physical Limitations – ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
