You can also visit us on Indeed and Glassdoor.Instagram | Facebook | LinkedIn | Twitter | TikTokReporting clinically to the Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy and administratively to the Manager, Clinical Services, assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and monitors physiotherapy treatment to patients with incontinence and incontinence-related symptoms and assigns components of treatment to assistants/aides, where appropriate; develops specific therapeutic guidelines, procedures and/or policies for the assigned area and acts as a clinical resource on issues related to incontinence; participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical physiotherapy practice including philosophy, goals, objectives, continuous quality improvement and risk management.- Provides physiotherapy therapy and treatment to patents in the incontinence management clinics by conducting various assessments, identifying the problem, determining functional abilities and rehabilitation potential, establishing treatment goals, implementing appropriate treatments and re-evaluating progress of the patients, including accommodation requests; provides education to patients and their families in all aspects of physiotherapy treatment as it relates to incontinence management and applicable exercises.- Obtains patient history from chart, interviews and patient observation including patient conferences and team meetings; provides recommendations for appropriate treatment to ensure quality and safe patient care; communicates with physicians, other health professionals and patient #39;s families regarding the patient #39;s care and progress; attends relevant patient care conferences and communicates pertinent information.- Works as a member of the interprofessional team to develop a discharge plan for patients in the assigned area(s) in accordance with physician #39;s specific orders, referrals and/or established standing orders.- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the incontinence management services by working with other clinical staff and the Manager, Clinical Services in program development, planning and creation of applicable evaluation criteria.- Develops specific therapeutic processes, guidelines, procedures and/or policies for the assigned area and acts as a clinical resource to other physiotherapists, clinical staff and physicians related to incontinence management.- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to promote the development of the continence management program through research, consultation to other agencies and presentations when appropriate.- Assigns components of treatment to assistants/aides, where applicable; ensures that the assigned treatment components are being carried out consistent with the patient care by supervising, instructing, observing and monitoring the work of the assistant/aide; provides input to the Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy and/or Manager, Clinical Services on the performance of assistants/aides.- Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to staff, patients/residents and families by modeling and conducting presentations; acts as a resource to staff, patients/residents and/or families by providing information and answering questions related to incontinence and other physiotherapy-related issues.- Documents and records care and rehabilitation activities on patient chart; maintains patient records, clinical outcome measures and statistical data on accordance with department, facility and professional standards.- Provides regular feedback and communications to the Professional Practice Leader, Physiotherapy regarding philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, continuous quality improvement and risk management.- Demonstrates procedures and provides instruction, orientation and feedback to physiotherapy students, interns or residents during their clinical practicum, as assigned.- Participates in hospital and department activities such as patient rounds, workload statistics, in-services, continuous quality improvement activities, professional practice, new staff orientation, relevant workshops and special interest meetings.- Remains current in evidence-based physiotherapy by participating in interprofessional, department and professional development, conducting research and reviewing literature on current practice and developments for the designated clinical area (s).- Reports and identifies equipment malfunction, hazards or unsafe practices in the work area to the Professional Practice Chief or designate for follow up.- Performs other related duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceGraduation from an approved school of Physiotherapy. Two (2) years #39; recent related clinical experience working with patients with incontinence including training in performing intra-pelvic assessments/exams and treatment and developing related therapeutic practice policies/procedures, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC and eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area (s)- Demonstrated ability to assess and treat a diversity of conditions commonly seen in the relevant area of practice- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with patients, families, other clinical staff and physicians- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients both one-on-one and/or in groups- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team- Ability to organize and establish workload priorities- Ability to present to individuals and groups- Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict and/or conflict situations- Ability to operate related equipment including related software applications- Physical ability to perform the duties of the positionJob ID: 2023-45494FTE: 0.54Scheduled Startamp;
