Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the management of overall financial operations. With a focus on accurate and timely financial reporting, the Senior Accountant plays an integral role in the monthly reporting cycle, including tracking accruals, preparing reconciliations and providing analysis of financial results. This position supports the Finance team and Assistant Controller in directing and managing the Company’s accounting functions, as well as maintaining accounting systems and implementing changes as required. The Senior Accountant provides guidance in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, assists with monthly duties and takes on special projects that supports AE Concrete’s strategic plan.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or other related discipline, from a recognized post-secondary institution.Enrolled in a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)Two or more years’ related experience, including full-cycle accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environmentProficient in core software programs including accounting systems (SAP preferred) and advanced skill levels in MS ExcelDemonstrated knowledge of accounting concepts and principles including experience with ASPE (Accounting standards for private enterprises)Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functionsSkills and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal skills combined with strong customer service skills and the ability to work with multiple personality typesIntegrity, reliability, and the ability to manage self with urgency, practicality, and accountabilityExceptional organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities, including the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentDemonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skillsDetail focused with a high degree of accuracyAdvanced computer skills, specifically in Excel, including developing formulas, charts, graphs and pivot tablesAbility to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understandPowered by JazzHR
