Job Description

Job Highlights:Skills - Must Have:CPA Designation or working towards a CPA| Experience in a public practice firm About this Job:As a Senior Accountant part of the Private Enterprise Group, your responsibilities will include the following:Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute audit fieldwork for private companies in compliance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS
  • Lead and mentor junior team members in the execution of audit fieldwork
  • Canadian tax experience including preparation of personal and corporate tax returns and various other required filings
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on audit of private companies and owner managed clients.
  • Strong understanding and demonstration of technical knowledge – specifically ASPE, ASNPO, GAAP
  • CPA designation or working towards a CPA
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines
  • Hands-on experience in accounting software such as Taxprep, CaseWare or similar softwares
