As a safety ambassador you will be an active contributing member of our Incident Response Team.The TeamOur Swift Current, SK team is a dynamic group of professionals committed to providing best in class customer service. Each team member takes pride in their commitment to collaboration, innovation, and making a positive impact.Work EnvironmentThis position entails a standard 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call duties. This role may require flexibility in shifts, extended hours, weekend work, and occasional travel as dictated by business needs. Candidates must be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions and challenging work environments.A Day in The Life

• Attend safety meetings and abide by the company Occupational Health and Safety Program.
• Attend Daily Tailgates, complete FLHA #39;s and Hazard ID #39;s.
• Complete waste pickups utilizing cube vans, pickup trucks, and equipment trailers.
• Segregate, package, and transport hazardous wastes to our processing facility.
• Complete appropriate manifest / paperwork to support the waste pick up.
• Evaluate customer needs and communicate it back to the appropriate Sales Representatives or Project Coordinators.
• Respond to and support all Incident Response work.
• Operate small equipment such as forklifts, pumps etc.
• Conduct field work including manual labor at remote project sites on an as needed basis.

Skills, Experience,amp; QualificationsTechnical:

• Valid Class 5 Driver #39;s License with clean abstract required. An air brake endorsement or class 3 drivers #39; licence will be considered valuable assets.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials.
• Ability to learn how and ensure waste is identified, transported, and disposed in accordance with Transport Canada and the Ministry of the Environment regulations.
• Ability to learn how and complete appropriate Government Manifests and Bills of Lading to support the transportation of the waste pick ups.
• Willingness to participate in our paid-on call program.
• Willingness to practice Worksafe BC facial grooming standards that support the ability to wear a full-face respirator during all work shifts.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Good computeramp; mobile phone device skills. Willingness to learn Secure #39;s training and other online applications.

Interpersonal:

• Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Good time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in an unsupervised environment.
• Good listening skills along with ability to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to multi-task, assess situations and prioritize tasks accordingly.
