Job PurposeThe Team Leader is responsible for overseeing onsite program operations by maintaining an effective treatment milieu and safe environment for our person-served.AttitudesMaintain and promote the philosophy that “every child will do well if they can” for all staffChampion a trauma informed approach by reinforcing for all staff the importance of healthy relationships and the effective prevention and resolution of conflictEnvironmentEstablish and maintain a culture of learning, professional growth, trauma informed practice, cultural relevance and overall focus on healing and treatment for persons-servedAdministrationAdherence to the high standards of accreditation expected of a high-quality treatment facility and ensure positive relationships with all licensing bodiesProvide administration to the program in the following areas:Assist staff to ensure that policies and procedures are followedParticipate in Service Team meetingsLead staff meetings for the general staffing teamReview and assess all referral packages and liaise with the Service Team regarding potential approvals for intakeEnsure all youth are participating in the treatment programCoordinate client intake and transition in and out of NWTC programsLead and support the service team to deliver high-quality servicesEnsure all case conferences are completed successfully in a timely mannerEnsure all Client Progress Reports are completed and shared with stakeholdersHuman ResourcesUse effective conflict prevention and resolution proceduresSupport the Service Team to recruit and retain highly qualified staff who move forward the mission of NWTCSupervise onsite staff in the programExercise effective human resources processesSupport grievances, staff discipline and investigations as necessaryEnsure an effective system is in place for training and developing staff and their skillsSupervise and promote best practices within the staffing teamFinanceFollow NWTC Policies and Procedures and supervisor direction regarding expenses and reporting of expenses including floats and managing receiptsFollow and monitor the annual budget approved by the Service TeamPromote effective cost saving measures to maintain high quality care and remain fiscally responsibleQuality ImprovementImplement priority items in the Strategic PlanEnsure effective quality improvement activities are part of the culture of the organizationRisk Management & SafetyEnsure Risk Management Plan is being followed by all staff to prevent and effectively respond to risks within the organizationCompliance with all safety procedures including the Emergency Response PlanEnsure critical incidents are competed, tracked and reportedCommunicationsPromote positivity and hopefulness with persons-served, colleagues, stakeholders and members of the publicExercise appropriate activities for promoting NWTC programs and servicesLiaise with stakeholders to promote confidence in the excellent services provided by NWTC. Develop effective relationships with stakeholders and create marketing activities which enhance the excellent reputation of NWTCImplement effective internal communication processesMaintain confidentiality and abide by the Oath of Confidentiality, NWTC Code of Conduct and the Child and Youth Care Association Ethical guidelinesReportingReport regularly to the ED on the successes and challenges of the programComplete monthly assurance reportQualificationsQualificationsKnowledge and experience with indigenous cultureExperience working with indigenous children and youth in care is essentialAt least 3 years of experience working with youth is essentialUndergraduate degree and/or diploma in Human ServicesAt least 2 years of experience in a management position
