From initial inquiry to delivery, Can Art has the knowledge, capacity, and capability to handle your requirements and exceed your expectations.We are looking for a talented individual for the position of EHS Manager at our Windsor Extrusion Plant.Position Overview:The Environmental Healthamp; Safety Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, communication and coordination of all health and safety programs for the Can Art site in Lakeshore/Windsor, ON. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day environmental health and safety functions and working with plant management to ensure compliance, implement good manufacturing and continuous improvement practices, and EHS as a value-added part of the overall business. The EHS Manager reports to the General Manager.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and provide guidance and advice to all departments pertaining to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Facilitate and/or lead in near misses, incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis and problem-solving including elaboration and follow-up of corrective and preventative actions and reports.
  • Responsible for effective claims management including investigation of incidents, completion of required forms, reporting on all Workplace Injury cases, and managing early return to work programs.
  • Oversee WSIB/NEER cost containment strategies and programs to ensure effective WSIB claims management, including an early and safe return to work program.
  • Provide education and training for all employees as per the legislative requirements, to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all applicable provincial and federal regulations and provisions.
  • Conduct job safety analysis and behaviour observations in order to detect and correct unsafe acts or unsafe behaviours.
  • Conduct risk assessments – identifying and installing the appropriate controls.
  • Lead / co-chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Function as ergonomics Manager and coordinate ergonomics program.
  • Represent EHS for ISO/IATF Program and ensure compliance with all requirements. Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO/IATF standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.
  • Ensure all employees receive proper safety and environmental training and understand all job tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • College Degree in Environmental Healthamp; Safety or related field.
  • Valid Joint Health amp;Safety Committee certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Environmental, Health, Safety and Ergonomics program in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in delivering H amp;S training to employees.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Required Skills:
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Highly motivated self-starter and results-driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and externally with regulatory agencies and local response organizations to build effective relationships
  • Able to perform well in high-pressure situations
  • Attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy to ensure data integrity
  • Independent problem-solving skills with the ability to create and implement solutions
