Notice of Employment OpportunityJanuary 6, 2025Summer Student - Public Works The Town of Tecumseh is accepting resumes for Summer Students in the Public Worksamp; Engineering Services Department.Job SummaryReporting to the Manager Public Worksamp; Transportation, the Student Employees - Public Works are members of the Public Worksamp; Transportation Services Division.In a team environment, the Student Employees - Public Works will be responsible for roadside maintenance, town beautification and general assistance to the Public Works Labourers.Qualifications and RequirementsThe successful candidates must hold a valid Class G Driver’s license and be enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Preference will be given to students enrolled in Civil Engineering Technician or related educational program and have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act Book.The ideal candidates will have related experience.Ideal candidates should have experience with weed control, garbage collection, weed whipping, and performance of traffic control, such as flagging, and other related outdoor maintenance work.The successful candidates must be available to work 40 hours each week, Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.The work term is between the months of April 28, 2025 through September 10, 2025.
