Archaeologist (Intermediate to Senior Field Director/Permit Holder) Roy Northern Land and environmental Location:Terrace, BC OfficesRoy Northern Land and Environmental is an expanding progressive surface land and environmental consulting firm with an interest in oil and gas, forestry, mining, energy, and agricultural industries, as well as municipal authorities throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Canadas north.JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities· Initiate, manage, and lead archaeological assessments for forestry, mine, oil and gas facility and pipeline projects· Assist with proposals including scopes of work and cost estimates for archaeological projects preferred· Assist with building and maintaining positive client relationships, focusing on providing top-quality service· Train and mentor junior staff· Execute complex archaeological field programs· Complete technical reports· Maintain an understanding of applicable heritage resources regulations, guidelines and associated industry practices within BC· Consult with the Archaeology Branch and/or BC Energy Regulator, and interact with regulators on behalf of clients· Document and keep records in accordance with Roy Northerns Quality Management PlanRequired Competencies· Displays leadership and independence in scheduling, prioritization, and completion of work tasks· Understands project management processes and willing to adhere to them· Strong commitment to health, safety and environment culture· Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry in BC preferred· Well-versed in pertinent provincial heritage legislation· Superior attention to detail and ability to produce professional deliverables on time and on budget· Ability to coordinate project planning, logistics, and preparation for field work· Ability to make decisions with consideration of appropriate inputs· Experience with working on large work programs with multiple team members· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, technical report writing skills, and project management skills· Willing to travel and work away from home periodically· Must be physically fit, comfortable in an outdoor setting, and able to adapt to various weather conditionsGeneral Qualifications· Bachelor or Graduate Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology· 5+ years of relevant archaeological experience· Member of the BCAPA preferred· Permit Holder, BC Field Director, or eligible to apply· Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office· Current Safety Tickets (i.e., First Aid, H2S) preferred· Valid Class 5 Drivers License· Canadian Citizen or Permanent ResidencyCompensation· Full Time Position· Local and Remote Work Options· Competitive Wage ($40.00 to $60.00 per hour)· Paid Vacation and Personal Days· Group Life and Health Benefits· Wellness Program· Training Opportunities· RRSP and Employer Contributions
