Job Description

DEFINITION:Under the direction of the Programs Supervisor, or his/her delegate, supervises public ice activities, assists with a variety of janitorial tasks, performs cash functions at the Sportsplex during public skating, and related programmes.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  1. Supervise public use of the Sportsplex;
  2. Maintain order on the ice surface;
  3. Distribute skates and helmets when needed;
  4. Perform janitorial duties, as assigned;
  5. Collect cash for public skating programmes and record daily cash receipts;
  6. Provide basic first aid when required;
  7. Other related duties, as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Proficient skater;
  2. Ability to operate related equipment;
  3. Some janitorial experience;
  4. First Aid training;
  5. Ability to work independently and to accomplish tasks and assignments;
  6. Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public;
  7. Good written and oral communication skills.
  8. Reliable transportation to attend work.
