Business Development Manager (Internal Wholesaler)Conveniently located in Toronto, we are a successful and growing investment counselling firm which manages discretionary investment portfolios on behalf of families, foundations and corporations. As a Portfolio Manager and Investment Fund Manager, we manage a range of focused, publicly traded and alternative investment portfolios on both a separate account and pooled fund basis using a value-oriented investing style.We offer employees a small, friendly and entrepreneurial environment along with competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and opportunities to multi-task, learn and contribute to the firm’s success.Overview of RoleAs a Business Development Manager, you will be an important member of our team. You will build and maintain our firm’s business development efforts in advisory channels, wholesaling our proprietary investment funds to financial advisors, family offices and institutions, by targeted prospecting, focussed marketing initiativesamp; by using your own network.You have an energetic, sales-oriented personality, enjoy working with people and building relationships. With an excellent working knowledge of traditional and alternative investment strategies, you are able to clearly communicate with prospects and identify new business opportunities.Select Key Responsibilities· Outbound calls to Investment Advisors in order to generate interest and book appointments for the External Wholesaler· Primary responsibility is developing a business development pipeline for the firm including identifying prospective clients and centers of influence and engaging with such parties on the firm’s services and investment strategies with a mandate to grow the firm’s assets.· Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of sales and marketing materials and strategic planning of marketing initiatives.· Liaising with other members of the firm to assist with the firm’s business development objectives.Profile of Ideal CandidateYou possess a University degreeamp; relevant industry designations are also considered an asset. You have excellent written and verbal presentation skills and a willingness to do the little things, behind the scenes.You have a strong track record of success in a business development role. You are comfortable on the phone and being in a high activity sales position.You enjoy working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment and are a high energy, self-motivated, enthusiastic and a collaborative team player, who is willing to roll up their sleeves and grow as we continue to expand.Compensation: $60,000-$100,000 base salary + commission Benefits: Full health benefits
