Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Business, and Science, instructors are responsiblefor the development and delivery of culturally relevant curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment methods. In addition to teachingduties, the Instructor will be responsible for related duties including classroom management, student supervision, maintenance of studentrecords and grades, curriculum refinement, and other administrative tasks.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS• PhD in Aboriginal/Northern Studies required to be considered for Assistant Professor classification

  • Master’s degree in Aboriginal/Northern Studies or relevant combination of education and experience required to be considered for
University Instructor classification
  • Knowledge and experience teaching Aboriginal rights, law, and politics
  • Demonstrated creative and culturally relevant instructional practices with adults and Indigenous learners
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to life-long learning
ASSETS• Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Ability to teach Indigenous Research Methods
  • Experience teaching introductory Aboriginal/Northern Studies to upper-level Aboriginal/Northern Studies courses
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Indigenous and adult learners at the post-secondary level
  • Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment using various Learning Management Systems (Adobe, Zoom, Desire to Learn,
