Job Description

FireSpirit Inc. is a First Nation owned company working to build human resources and provide employment services to Indigenous and Manitoba communities. We offer a friendly and supportive work environment that encourages working together, friendliness, and having fun.We are seeking a 2* Full Time Term Mentors (35 Hrs per week) *for our The Thompson office that will be responsible for supporting the delivery of employment services to clients (including but not limited to LGBTQ2S - identifying individuals, newcomers, etc.). Our Sevices are client based with outcomes being education, training, and employmentQualifications – You will be able to demonstrate the following: Have at least one year of post secondary education, training, or professional development (relevant certificate programs)

  • Have at least one year of post secondary education, training, or professional development (relevant certificate programs are considered)
  • Must have a basic understanding of diverse Indigenous and northern customs, cultures, and practices
  • Must clearly demonstrate an ability to mentor and help people develop goals
  • Can work with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines
  • Be able to adapt and respond to pressure in a fast-changing environment
  • Be willing to learn Motivational Interviewing and Job Coaching techniques
  • Be very comfortable working with digital technology and various software programs
  • Must have a Valid Class V Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience working with and/or knowledge about Income Assistance Programming a strong asset
Start Date: January 1st, 2023End Date: December 31st, 2023, with a strong possibility of permanent statusSalary Range: $20.90 – $27.47 per hourBenefits: Three Weeks Paid Vacation, Performance BonusesHours of Work: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (start and end times negotiable)
