  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have a valid class 5.0 drivers licence.
  • Must be able to travel extensively to work sites within the province by ground and/or air transportation.
  • Must be able to work occasional extended hours or period of time as project demands (including overtime and weekends).
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment.
Qualifications:Essential:
  • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or completion of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructures Department Level 3 training program. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Project management experience related to/or with a focus on all aspects of roadway design and construction.
  • Experience in the supervision and management of staff.
  • The ability to mentor, coach and train employees for career development and succession planning purposes.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety, Health & Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong decision making skills.
Duties:The Highway Resource Manager (HRM) reports to the Senior Highway Construction Engineer/Manager and is the most senior paraprofessional resource to Regional management and engineering field staff in all aspects of highway construction. The Highway Resource Manager co-ordinates engineering manpower and resources in support of various regional and provincial programs, develops succession planning strategies for the region by ensuring engineering staff have individual career developmental plans and are trained and prepared to meet the future needs of the Region and department.
