Job Description

As an essential part of the Rehabilitation team, the Receptionist performs the functions of patient/client receiver and isresponsible for performing functions pertaining to the booking of all Rehabilitation Clinics and clerical support. TheReceptionist is the initial contact with the public.The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check andAdult Abuse Registry check and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS• Grade 12 education or equivalent

  • Post-secondary education in office procedures (combinations of education and experience may be considered)
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course
  • Thorough knowledge of windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Previous outpatient clinic office experience
  • Knowledge of EMR such as Accuro and RIS systems an asset
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset, preferably Cree, Dene or Michif
  • Respects and promotes culturally diverse population
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and independently
  • Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute (typing test will be required)
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
