Job Description

An integral member of the patient clinical service and Long Term Care team. Utilizes knowledge and skills to empowerclients, plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the programs and services relating to the psychosocial needs ofpatients, residents, and families in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, policies, protocols and standardswhere applicable.Strives to empower patients, residents and their informal support systems to manage the impact their illness has ontheir lives by enhancing problem solving and coping abilities. Works collaboratively with management and staff toensure the department meets our clients’ needsQUALIFICATIONS

  • Current active registration with the Manitoba College of Social Workers
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of Government/Subsidy Program (CPP/OAS)
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset, preferably Cree, Dene or Michif
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
